Many of you are eagerly waiting for iOS 5.1 jailbreak. When the new iPad was launched hacker like i0n1c, MuscleNerd, chpwn and pheonixdev were able to jailbreak their iPad (3) on iOS 5.1. But no progress news has been known since than, so iOS hacker pod2g has given us some update on the status of iOS 5.1 jailbreak.

The new iPad (3rd generation) was launched yesterday, lots and lots of people have already got their hand on the new iPad. Before these people could ask when will they be able to jailbreak their new beauty, famous hacker i0n1c has already jailbreaked his new iPad and yes its untethered. Now it may take time before the jailbreak could reach to public. But we won’t have to wait long enough as we had wait for iPad 2 jailbreak. Here is a video posted by i0n1c as proof.

Folks at BGR were able to get hands on with iOS 5.1 GM. They kind of played with the new verison and leaked few screenshots. The lock screen in iOS 5.1 has got a minor change, a fixed camera button located next to the slide to unlock button, and instead of tapping on it to launch the camera, you simply drag the entire unlock section up to open the camera app. Even Siri has learned Japanese as rumored. iOS 5.1 GM is expected to be released in first week of March.

Stefan Esser who also goes by the name of i0n1c, is a hacker who had developed an iOS 4.3.x untethered jailbreak exploit. Now he tweeted something which might help us in jailbreaking iOS 5.1. He recommended people to download KakaoTalk Messenger 2.8.8, before Apple removes it from AppStore. KakaoTalk might have an exploitable vulnerability that can be used for iOS 5.1 jailbreak. i0n1c is often seen people teasing with such news, so take it with a pinch of salt. Click Here To Read More
